how to save on cable

I went to a waldorf school as a child where we weren't really allowed to watch television. I remember bringing a strawberry shortcake lunchbox to class and getting in trouble. While I've heard heads of tech giants who send there kinds to schools like these also have the no TV rule to give their kids a childhood. It kind of raised me to not rely on cable as much.

So TV was not always a must for my household.  Today it's not a must and with the internet you almost no longer need a huge cable bill. So if you are low on funds consider these cost effective alternatives/

1. Free news
many news stations have free streaming of the local news.

2. TUNE in radio. Tunein radio has many cable news network where you can list to audio for free.

3. Free movie apps on your phone, Vudu, crackle (sony) and many other apps allow you to stream movies some with ads.

4. The public library- I'm not sure where you live but our library has educational movies and some popular films to download for free.

5. Your phone- if you have google play or apple you can rent movies on your phone.

IF you must have over 500 channels that is fine. But usually stations have youtube videos where you can have a sample to view until you make enough where a cable bill won't make a great dent in your budget.
